Taproom and

Community Manager

Location: Reno, NV
Position: Part-Time with ability to grow to Full-Time

Do you genuinely like talking to strangers? Think planning a killer event sounds like fun? Have strong opinions about beer served in the right glass? We should probably talk.

Bristlecone Brewing Company is looking for an outgoing, organized, and creative Taproom & Community Manager to become the face of our brewery (no pressure).

This is a hands-on role where you'll spend plenty of time behind the bar pouring great beer, getting to know our regulars, welcoming first-timers, and making sure everyone leaves happier than they arrived. You'll also help dream up events that get people through the door, keep our social media from collecting dust, and help build the kind of neighborhood brewery people can't wait to come back to.

If you love craft beer, enjoy making people laugh, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and believe every pint comes with a side of community, we'd love to meet you.

Taproom Management (Approximately 60%)

  • Lead daily taproom operations in accordance with Bristlecone Brewing Company's Standard Operating Procedures, performance expectations, and core values.

  • Create an exceptional guest experience by serving beer, educating customers about our beers and brewing process, and fostering a welcoming atmosphere.

  • Recruit, hire, onboard, train, and mentor taproom staff while promoting accountability and a positive team culture.

  • Manage employee scheduling and oversee daily operations.

  • Maintain accurate cash handling, POS operations (Arryved), and update menu items and inventory as needed.

  • Ensure the taproom remains clean, organized, safe, and compliant with health and safety standards.

  • Monitor taproom inventory and coordinate ordering of supplies and merchandise.

  • Periodically review and update SOPs, opening/closing procedures, and daily checklists to improve efficiency.

  • Drive taproom sales and profitability by creating exceptional guest experiences, promoting pints, beer-to-go, merchandise, and memberships, while developing engaging events and programming that encourage repeat visits and attract new customers.

Events & Community Engagement (Approximately 30%)

  • Develop, coordinate, and execute an engaging calendar of events including live music, trivia, community gatherings, fundraisers, and seasonal celebrations.

  • Book and communicate with local musicians, entertainers, vendors, and community partners.

  • Build relationships within the Reno community to create meaningful collaborations and attract new guests.

  • Represent Bristlecone Brewing Company at festivals, beer events, and other community functions as needed.

  • Stay informed about local events and identify opportunities for partnerships and cross-promotion.

Marketing & Content Support (Approximately 10%)

  • Assist with creating promotional materials for upcoming events, including posters, flyers, and in-house signage.

  • Capture photos and videos during events and in the taproom for use on social media.

  • Help maintain Bristlecone's social media presence by creating engaging content and highlighting new beers, events, and brewery life.

  • Work with ownership to develop marketing ideas that strengthen the Bristlecone brand and increase customer engagement.

  • Monitor guest feedback and online reviews to help improve the customer experience.

  • Strong beer knowledge and confidence pouring and serving craft beer.

  • Experience leading, training, and motivating a team.
